✨ The Three Cores of Moonshot Mastery: Finding Balance on the Moonlight Master Path

When I first set out on the Lightkeepers Pilgrimage, I thought I was chasing lighthouses. In truth, I was searching for something far deeper. The parts of myself that had gone quiet, the inner “cores” that had been dulled by years of stress, expectation and survival.
Out on the road, in wild Scottish rain, standing at Cape Wrath or sitting on a Cornish beach with Milo hanging out of my rucksack, I began to realise that we don’t just live from the mind or the body alone. We carry three inner systems that guide everything we do. These are what I call the Three Cores of Moonshot Mastery.
They are:
The Scientific Core: Our logic, structure and ability to make sense of the world.
The Spatial Core: Our connection to space, nature, our environment and perspective.
The Intuitive Core: That whisper inside, our inner child and deeper knowing.
Each one has carried me at different moments in my life. Each one also has a shadow when left unattended. And together, they are what the Moonlight Master Path is built upon.
🔦 How the Three Cores of Moonshot Mastery link to the Five Pillars
Along this path, there are Five Pillars. Just like lighthouses on the coastline, each sending out a beam. These beams don’t just guide ships, they awaken the Cores inside us.
Some Pillars steady the Scientific Core; giving us knowledge, clarity, and the discipline to step forward even when life feels chaotic.
Others open up the Spatial Core; reminding us to breathe, to look around, to notice the beauty in our environment and the patterns in our own lives.
And at the right time, certain Pillars spark the Intuitive Core; teaching us to trust that quiet voice, to see through the noise, and to live from a place of truth.
It’s not random. There’s a rhythm. Each Pillar illuminates a Core, and each Core makes the next Pillar possible.
🌱 Why the order matters
I learnt the hard way that intuition alone can’t carry you when your nervous system is fried. When I was teaching full time, burnt out and running on adrenaline, I often mistook fear for instinct. It was only when I began to ground myself, to rebuild the Scientific Core with structure and self understanding that I could then step into space.
The Spatial Core was what I found in the Highlands, cycling across the Isle of Tiree in the rain with all my camping kit. It taught me that my environment is a mirror, if I live in constant clutter or stress, my mind becomes the same. But when I open space, I create perspective.
And only then, only after safety and space, could the Intuitive Core really come alive. That’s why it always comes last. Intuition without grounding is just noise. Intuition built on science and space is wisdom.
🌊 What happens when the Three Cores align
When all three are alive, life feels different. There’s clarity in thought, perspective in action, and courage in decisions.
For me, it meant finally trusting this path and leaving behind the comfort of the classroom, believing in Moonshot Mastery, carrying Milo across Europe, and daring to speak about things most people run from: shadow, trauma, and the abyss.
But I have also seen too often, and too recently, what happens when the Cores are misaligned. When one burns too bright while another is left in the dark. When people, especially men in our society fall into their abyss, sometimes never to return. It is heart breaking. And it must change.
The Three Cores don’t make life easy. But they make it whole. They are the bridge that links the Five Pillars into something you can live, breathe and build a life upon.
🌟 An Invitation
This is just the first glimpse. In the blogs ahead, I’ll dive into each Core; Scientific, Spatial, Intuitive. To share how you can recognise them, nurture them, and balance them. Just like the lighthouses, they’ll light up your path one by one.
For now, I invite you to pause and ask:
Which Core feels strongest in me right now?
Which one feels dim, hidden, or neglected?
And what would it feel like to bring them into balance?
Because that balance, not perfection, not performance, but balance. It is where clarity, purpose and fulfilment begin.
This is the heart of the Moonlight Master Path. Not just theory. Not just stories. But lived experience that I hope shines a light on your own.
